Dakin House

The adventures of Hampshire College's Dakin House, as told by Hampshire College's Dakin House.

NOISE!

Noise is a couple things.

Noise is a movie starring Tim Robbins who plays a man living in New York City who is driven mad by the excessive noise in the city.  Instead of moving like a normal person, he becomes a vigilante who breaks into peoples cars with a baseball bat in order to stop the noise.  What a mean thing to do!  What a weird thing to make a movie about!

Also, check out that tagline.

You’ve had it “…up to HEAR”?!?!  Yikes.

Noise is also something that there shouldn’t be a whole lot of during quiet hours.

Please respect the posted quiet hours on each of your respective halls and everyone will be a lot more happy and probably less likely to come at you (or your car?) with a baseball bat in the name of justice. Not everyone wants to hear your rendition of Gogol Bordello’s “start wearing purple” no matter how good it is when its 1am.

Also, don’t feel bad about asking people to quiet down yourself.  You are totally in the right as long as you ask nicely to turn down their music or their face.  If you aren’t comfortable asking though, ask an intern.  They totally want to help and will without hesitation if you ask, that goes for asking large crowds of drunk kids in the quad to quiet down too.  They are kinda super heroes like that.

Here is a picture of a cat.
